  • Chinese Kunqu opera performance course (acting and singing): 6 x 2-hour lessons:  Saturdays 2pm-4pm, October 26 to November 30, 2019                                   Course fees: £84; £66 (students)                                                                                                This course is hosted by the SOAS Jing-Kun Chinese Opera Society at SOAS Main Building and another venue.                                                                                                      Selections to be learnt will be from song/tune-titles (qupai 曲牌) from In Pursuit of the Dream from The Peony Pavilion 〈牡丹亭-寻梦〉by Tang Xianzu of the Ming Dynasty                                                                                                                        Requirements: one Chinese opera paper folding-fan with minimum 30 fan sticks and 26/27 cm length; one watersleeves practice jacket (short), bought or hired; and flat, thin soft-sole shoes or just wear socks.

  • Kunqu Opera will be performed for the first time at The Fan Museum at Greenwich on Monday November 18, 2019 at 7pm. 

Kathy will be performing Kunqu Opera In Pursuit of the Dream (with English and Chinese subtitles.) Drinks reception and opportunity to visit the exhibition from 6.30pm.
